Yihui Hu is a Chicago-based narrative and short film director currently pursuing her MFA in Film and Television Directing at DePaul University.

 

From an early age, she developed a love for writing and painting. Throughout her primary education, she continued exploring different mediums for creative expression. After joining her high school’s film club and shooting her first short, her passion for visual storytelling took off. 

 

She believes the connections between individuals extends beyond the titles of friendship, romance, and family bonds and is dedicated to uncovering what lies in the unconscious.

 

Her favorite movies are Everything Everywhere All at Once (2022), Arrival (2016), and Dune (2022).
